Sorry, i had bad dreams last night, i dreamed Sasha was appointed as CEO of
auDA ... my apologies.
Please allow me to get this thread back on topic :

> it's an domain name industry plot to make sure that registrants renew
> their domain names in a timely manner

Gald that someone saw this.. maybe not a conspiracy but the reality is how
do you prove the "Truth in Domain Names" ?

How do you substancally argue that someone used a any name for a web site
name to 'trick minors' into visiting pornographic materials?

If a minor gets to an adult site there are warnings... of which children
will sort out this sort of thing on there own accord anyway, no tricks just
kids being kids.

No compensation for good parental supervision or lockout programs for kids
to surf the net.

It will not substantially protect this happening.. it does not mean that it
will stop or can be protected against when its an after the fact
occourance.. It was simply made the public aware of certain practices to
ensure that people look after there names when minors are involved.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes someone to sue under this
and actually win.

Educate not legislate.

Regards,

Michael-Pappas.

Ginger,

Calm down... you have just changed this thread form a discusion on
legislation on domain use to ING's conduct and your anger over it...

I'm not really sure how the thread got you thinking about them... they have
nothing to do with the registering droped names... only registered ones...

The whole thing about this was educating people about what can happen if
they let there name go. Not about tranfers between registrars or resellers
in the .au domain space.

> What if ING gets out of that without a scratch and go on dong what they
> do, what are you guys going to do about it ( apart from whinging on
> this list) ?

What if? What if? What if? Let's wait and see.

Regards,

Michael-Pappas.
