You know, educating people is not very easy and especially in the Domain Name industry, it leads to confusion, with all these companies having almost similar names .... as i said before, it is already hard to make lots of people understand anything about the .com.au allocation policy, it is an industry that has LOTS of competition.. legislation to get rid of the bad apples in the industry is the first step, can't you see all the bad that ING and all the scammers are already doing in this industry, people reading articles about a few scammers everyday will assume that the whole industry is rotten at the core ( which is not far from the truth anyway ) , with that people will indeed start to get their domain name somewhere else, and this is how they educate themselves, you can cry out loud that you're the good guy and you don't abuse but it is no use, people will just go somewhere else, end of story. If auDA had moved to do something a long time ago ( like suspending ING and calling the ACCC years ago when they started to be aware of their practice, instead of waiting for the ACCC to get in and use it as a shield ) and if Melbourne IT had the guts to get rid of them ( despite the fact that ING is a cash cow for Melbourne IT ) early, this industry wouldn't be the joke it is right now ...But saying that, it seems everything seems to go in the right direction now, and better late than never, and credits go to the people that complained in the first place, then to the ACCC and of course auDA. I have a question for you guys : What if ING gets out of that without a scratch and go on dong what they do, what are you guys going to do about it ( apart from whinging on this list) ?
