e.g. Melbourne IT re-sellers get a wholesale price (approx $20 less than
normal retail) when they register / re-register com.au domain names.

BTW, does anyone believe the wholesale discount will remain that large in a
de-regulated environement?  The smaller the wholesale discount, the less
incentive to sign up as an "authorised reseller".

I suspect the larger existing com.au resellers are likely to become
Registrars in their own right after the introduction of competition.
