To joker.com's credit they were for a while in the year 2000
the cheapest registrar in the world for .com names.

Since then, as other registrars have been offering even lower
prices I have, over a long period of time transferred a total of
more than 50 domain names from joker.com, each time without
any problem at all, both before, and also many after the new
transfer procedure was introduced.

I was a bit surprised to see such criticisms of joker.com
as I have a lot of experience with them over a period of
a few years, and in earlier times never had any problem contacting
Tech Support either, and always received a helpful reply
within 1 day.

Its a simple procedure to transfer domains from joker.com -
just need to login to account at joker.com click on the
Service Zone link, then the Registrar Change button,
which generates 2 automatic emails.
1 to the owner's email address and 1 to the admin officer's
email address.

Only need to reply to one of these emails - delete
the NO line from the email and click send to reply.
Then wait till the 10 day window opens and initiate
a transfer through a new registrar.

The procedure described through Godaddy won't work.
Its still necessary to follow the above procedure.

Godaddy is a good long term choice though,
probably much better than Registry Web,
for while Registry Web may be advertising
a price for transfers in of US$7, which is
certainly cheap, their usual price as shown
on their site is US$20 for 1 year.

| Hi,
|
| Just my two cents, without being an advertisement, IMO godaddy.com are
| good, their support is good and fast (within 24 hours usually) and they
| have all the automated systems you need for transfer, If you have access
| to the Admin-c Owner-c email address's related to the domain you want to
| transfer, look at godaddy.com. their domain transfer system is very good.
| All you have to do is initiate the transfer at godaddy and godaddy send
| you a confirmation email at the admin address, you agree to the transfer
| and they do all the work for you.
|
| There is probably many domain registrars that provide the same service's
| but godaddy is the one I am familiar with.

| Hi,
|
| Would anyone care to comment on the email below I received back from
| RegistryWeb saying that as the losing Registrar they are not involved
| in the transfers away from their services and that the gaining
| Registrar only needs authorization from the Owner and/or Admin contact
| of the domain name? Is this true? Because, I've been going in
| circles with both Registrars ... the gaining one insists they need
| acknowledgment from the losing Registrar whom claim they don't need to
| give it. So, I keep hitting a brick wall. I've gotten nowhere for
| over 6 weeks! Very frustrating.
|
| We are talking about a .com .... not sure if the rules are different
| with .com.au's .
| Thanks, and would greatly appreciate any input. Sandra
