Some registrars & resellers probably charge lower prices because they spend
more time on their business rather than on endless keyboard chat in the "I'm
better than you are chatroom" that this list has turned into.

Prices charged in the main reflect the cost of doing business. Some
registrars have higher costs and this generally reflects on the price
charged. Some on the list need to look into how much it costs to set up a
commercial business then you might have a better understanding of why things
cost what they do.
