Simply removing data from a search is not going to fix a problem of SLAMMING
for domain name. Yes I can see that the data is more available in the
current state and more easily culled, but where there's a will there a way.
There are many way of obtaining the same information and producing the same
letter designed to trick and scare people who simply don't understand the
workings of this industry.

Many other problems could resolve with removing more of the data fields.

In order for registrant to confirm details the whois data is easy, quick and
affective, the whois is used.
In order for a registrar (which we hope will be soon, at the moment I refer
to resellers) to find out details of their own clients that

I don't want to see this data changed. Removal of the expiry date is
enough....

It comes down to the punishment of people/companies who abuse the system and
not hindering the legitimacy of others. An affective and communal
development of this must be taken in order for this sector to develop into
something we can be proud.
