Dear Folks

Can someone tell me, either from documentation they have or to the best of
their knowledge, how many people are in the same position that I am.

That is:

1.  They have a single word company name that pre-dates the internet as we
know it today.
2.  The company name is exactly the same as a word that MelbourneIT has
subsequently defined as a generic word and consequently been denied their
exact company name as a domain name on this basis.
