RARE DOMAINS.COM SUES VERISIGN OVER SEARCH ENGINE FEATURE
Rare Domains.com is suing Internet addressing giant VeriSign
for allegedly infringing on a patent for a search engine
feature. The feature in dispute allows the search engine to
check to see if a desired domain name has already been
registered. The feature then provides available alternatives
to the requested domain name if it is in fact taken. The
suit demands that Verisign stop offering the feature and pay
undetermined monetary damages.
