I would have to agree entirely with Leni. Everyone in the UK thinks Nominet
is a fantastic model. The organisation was formed by the domain name
registration community in 1996 and now serves hundred of clients.

Any companny wishing to register .uk domains becomes a member of Nominet
and the membership of Nominet UK also constitutes what is known as the
Steering Committee. This in turn elects non-executive directors to the
Council of Management, which is the legal equivalent of a board of
directors in a shareholding company. Technical, administrative and support
operations are managed by a small executive staff.
